Churches across the Diocese of Gloucester will be remembering those who have died in wars across the world this week.
Remembrance services will reflect on the men and women who sacrificed their lives in defending others, with many congregations holding a minute’s silence.
The Bishop of Gloucester, the Right Revd Rachel Treweek, will be attending two services on Sunday 8 November.
She has been invited to speak at the annual remembrance parade service at St Mary’s Church in Newent, which starts at 10am.
Bishop Rachel will also take part in the annual service which takes place at Gloucester Cathedral on Sunday at 3pm.
Attending the service will be civic dignitaries, members of the Royal British Legion, Royal Naval Association, Gloucester Sea Cadets, and serving and ex-members of the Armed Forces.
