Bishop Rachel is switching on the Christmas tree lights at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Friday 4th December at 4pm.
The tree, which has been donated by Over Farm for Pied Piper will be located in the Atrium at GRH and staff and visitors will be invited to hang their Christmas wish on the tree.
There will be a few craft tables throughout the afternoon as well as the opportunity to purchase our Cheltenham and Gloucester Charity’s new Recipe Book featuring recipes shared by our staff and volunteers.
Decorations, lights and the scene for Father Christmas have been donated by Friends of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and our Chair Clair Chilvers and the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire will be there to mark the occasion.
The Charity’s Director of Fundraising, Kate Green said: “We are delighted that Bishop Rachel is visiting Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to switch on the Christmas Wishing Tree lights.
“The Christmas tree this year is to be a ‘wishing tree’ which will make it really special for patients and visitors to the hospital. People can write their wishes on a star and hang it on the tree.
“As well as the welcoming the Bishop of Gloucester, we will be joined by members of the Caring Chorus choir who will sing some festive carols and we hope to see there many of our friends, volunteers and staff”.
