Senior Chaplain – Francis Close Hall Campus – University of Gloucestershire

The Council of the University with the Bishop of Gloucester, seeks to appoint a Senior Chaplain who must be an ordained minister of the Church of England. As part of the strategic leadership team of the Student Services Department, you will lead the Chaplaincy & Faiths Team which provides a broad range of services to our 10,000 students based at 4 campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester. Along with other teams, the Chaplaincy & Faiths Team enhances the pastoral care for our students and offers support and guidance for students exploring faith and spirituality.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of leadership to ensure that the team is a model of successful team ministry, to demonstrate excellent pastoral and interpersonal skills and be theologically aware with the ability to enthuse and offer support to students. You will have experience of working with client groups from diverse backgrounds, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.

The Senior Chaplain will hold the license of the Bishop of Gloucester and is encouraged to play a full part in diocesan life.

Salary comprises £25,624 (incumbent stipend) and a housing allowance of £15,963 per annum (in accordance with the Diocesan scale)
