Community Engagement and Volunteer Officer

As part of Gloucester’s exciting Great Place project, Gloucester Cathedral is seeking to employ a Community Engagement and Volunteer Officer.

Our new Community Engagement and Volunteer Officer will be responsible for the delivery of a co-ordinated volunteering programme to support Gloucester City’s Great Place vision.   You will be working with organisations and individuals from Gloucester’s Heritage Forum as well as supporting the development and delivery of Festivals and Events across the City.

In particular this will include recruiting, training and co-ordinating volunteers to:

  • provide wider access to and engagement with heritage buildings and spaces;
  • facilitate the development of a local list and record of buildings and heritage assets which have particular relevance to Gloucester residents

We’re looking for someone who can ensure that the range and diversity of volunteering opportunities are maximised to attract a wide range of volunteers and to provide strong support to the city’s heritage and cultural organisations.
