Changing Communities – Changing Perceptions
May 26 - June 3Free
Photography Exhibition by students from the University of Gloucestershire
Saturday 26th May – Sunday 3rd June 2018
Gloucester Cathedral Nave Aisles
In partnership with the University of Gloucestershire and the African Community Foundation, Changing Communities – Changing Perceptions exhibits a series of photography projects by students studying Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.
Students explored the theme of migration and were asked to work collaboratively with their subjects to produce photographs and accompanying interpretation. The aim of the project was to examine migration in a broad and inclusive way so as to extend the way that we understand migration and to challenge the traditional images of migrants. The projects illustrate the diversity of migrant’s stories and how they are represented as individuals in society.
The exhibition has been displayed in Cheltenham in 2017 as part of the students’ end of year show and we are delighted to display it here in Gloucester as part of FestivALL.
