Resources for Curates & Training Incumbents
We have a very strong group of curates in the Diocese of Gloucester, and with over 50 curates and over 40 training parishes, we are constantly looking at ways of developing our Curate Training Programme, (officially titled 'Initial Ministerial Education years 4-7'). We rely on training parishes to provide a good training environment, and trust them to do so. The materials contained here are to resource and inform that training, to the end that Curates are formed for a sustainable future in ordained ministry, able to grow in holiness and in their task as able stewards of the church's life and ministry under God.
The First Four Years Handbook sets out the principles and overall pattern for the training programme, and should be read by all curates and training incumbents.
The First Four Years Appendices: Resources gives an extensive range of resources from setting up the curacy through to moving on and may be drawn on as appropriate.
Hard copies of these materials were first made available in Autumn 2009, Updates will continue to be posted on this site.
