Women's Ministry
Dean of Women Clergy
This post involves sharing the pastoral care and oversight of the clergy and being a reference point for licensed female clergy and lay workers. I am passionate about helping clergy and lay workers flourish in their ministries and this post enables me to do this.
My work also includes encouraging and nurturing women's ministerial potential so that they can feel confident about applying for posts of greater responsibility and seniority.
Being a member of the Bishop's Staff Team broadens my work to include all the clergy. One dimension of this is carrying out Episcopal Reviews for male and female clergy.
Spending time listening to female colleagues often exposes issues that all actually common to both male and female clergy and these issues can be addressed for the sake of the whole church, not just a female sector.
Nationally, I meet with my other diocesan counterparts, where we look at issues that women clergy face in the church. At these meetings we seek to enable me another to be proactive in our respective dioceses in trying to bring attention to issues for possible resolution.
I am always available to clergy to support, listen and help in anyway I can.
