LM Days
Local Ministry Days are always held on
Saturdays, in or around Gloucester; arrivals from
9.45am; departing by
4.00pm. A light lunch is always provided.
Prior to the Residentials and Days, we issue details of the events, venue contact details and a map. We ask for dietary requirements and preference about sharing rooms. We try to ensure specific needs are catered for and everyone has an enjoyable time.
Pastoral Care Day (this compliments the module)
An opportunity to explore further what is meant by pastoral care through looking at the Eucharist as a framework for this. Also time for team members to bring pastoral care issues they are having to deal with and space to think about out motivation for being involved in pastoral care.
The day aims to help Local Ministry Teams focus their learning about pastoral care in:
- The pattern of the Eucharist.
- Biblical texts.
- The examples of four community projects/experiences.
Worship Day (this compliments the module)
Team members are encouraged to look at their various understandings of God and how this might affect worship, and how worship affects how we 'see' ourselves, the way we think of God and how we relate to others.
The aims of the day are:
- To provide opportunities for team members to deepen their understanding and awareness of what it means to participate in worship.
- To develop further connections between daily life, ministry to others, worship and understanding of God.
- To look at the explicit and implicit significance of the church's Offices, especially the Eucharist.
Community Day
This day has been designed for anyone and everyone involved in Local Ministry - who is part of a Benefice/Parish commissioned to Local Ministry, or a member of a Local Ministry team. To come together to affirm one another, to listen to one another, to learn together and to share our understanding of the gospel and how our living of the gospel is different in different contexts.
It offers an opportunity to get to know one another better and to renew and affirm friendships, to learn about developments in other parishes and to worship together.
