Remembering victims of road traffic accidents - a service at Gloucester Cathedral
Nov 15 at 3:00pm
In the Evensong service, there will be an opportunity to remember those killed on Gloucestershire's roads and prayers will be offered for the bereaved and injured.
During last year over 1.2 million people were killed on the world's roads, and the World Health Organisation has projected that road deaths will be the 5th leading cause of death by 2030, exceeding those caused by HIV/AIDS. More young people (age 15-29) are killed in collisions than by any other cause.
The third Sunday of November is the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. The World Day of Remembrance was initiated by RoadPeace, a UK charity providing support for victims of road crashes and campaigning for justice, road safety and road danger reduction. The day is now globally recognised.
The RoadPeace Helpline for road crash victims is 0845 4500 355 (local rate) open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
