Using the Resource Centre
Schools pay an annual subscription based on the number of pupils: please contact the Resource Centre for more information.
Membership of the Resource Centre is free to members of the Church of England living in the Diocese of Gloucester (but please note that borrowing RE resources is restricted to schools who subscribe). Individuals from other denominations or from outside of the Diocese are asked to pay a small annual subscription as a contribution towards our running costs. This is currently £18 per year (April 2017). Please contact the Resource Centre if you would like more information about this.
We offer books, information, resources and equipment to support faith and ministry in parish churches, as well as the more practical side of church life. We also have a wide variety of useful and inspiring resources which may interest you, from stories about saints and biographies of modern famous Christians, to poems and artwork.
Our library catalogue, Oliver OPAC, gives a full index of what is available to borrow.
Scholarly and popular approaches to studying the Bible in more depth: study courses, Bible notes and commentaries, Lent courses, background reading, and other materials suitable for small group study, whether you are planning to meet regularly or as a one-off. Also good for individual study.
Something to help you prepare, from planning a whole service to giving a short talk. Our worship and liturgy resources include a wide spectrum of approaches, from the very traditional to the more informal, so that you can choose something suitable for your church. We have resources that follow the Common Worship lectionary, as well as material for special services and festivals.
We also have prayer books and books about prayer, covering different approaches to prayer which have been used by Christians throughout the ages, so there is plenty to choose from whether you are praying alone, in a small group, or leading the intercessions on Sunday.
CDs, hymn books and musicals for every occasion: hymns, songs, chants, classical music, children’s songs, backing tracks and instrumental music. The library catalogue (Oliver OPAC) entry for each CD includes the track listing, so that you can search for individual hymns and songs. More details on how to do this are included in the catalogue search guide.

Our puppets would love to come and visit the children in your church! No experience required, why not give them a try? Meet the puppets
For ministry with families, we have a range of resources about giving both practical and spiritual support, including our recently updated section on parenting skills.
Books, course packs and other resources to help you grow in your Christian faith: material suitable for small groups, large groups, individuals or whole churches. Books for personal reading and reflection, which may also be helpful as supplementary reading for preparing group Bible study sessions. We cover many aspects of Christian belief and lifestyle, including practical ethics, church leadership and evangelism. We have many lovely books from popular Christian writers such as David Adam, Nick Fawcett, Bob Hartman, Lucy Moore, Susan Sayers, Margaret Silf and Tom Wright.
Sometimes a short poem or reading is just what you need to express the mood at a special event or service. It’s also a good way of introducing a topic or getting a discussion started. We have lots of seasonal and general material to choose from, suitable for various age groups and settings.
If you prefer something visual, you can choose something from our collection of art books and posters.
We offer colour printing and photocopying at competitive rates, on a self-service basis, as well as comb-binding and laminating. Current rates for printing etc.
