A message from the Bishop of Gloucester, the Right Revd Rachel Treweek:
“I am shocked and saddened by the news of another terrorist attack in London. As we pray for those whose lives have been lost or changed forever, we pray for people affected by recent terrorist attacks in Manchester, Egypt, Baghdad, Kabul and many other places across our world.
“For the past 10 days many of us have been participating in a worldwide wave of prayer #ThyKingdomCome and we continue to pray for all people to know God’s hope and healing. As followers of Jesus Christ we hold fast to the truth that the darkness and destruction of human hearts will never quench the light and life of Jesus Christ. The fire of human destruction diminishes life but the fire of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost reveals God’s generous love and life for all.
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people
And kindle in us the fire of your love. Amen
