The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have invited parishes across England to join a great wave of prayer between Ascension and Pentecost 2018.

The three aims are:

  • To join in prayer with the whole family of God the Father
  • To pray for the empowering of God the Holy Spirit
  • That we may be effective witnesses to God the Son, Jesus Christ.

  • 10 May 18 Ascension Day prayer for Cheltenham on Leckhampton Hill. Meet at 19:00 in Daisybank Road car park to walk up to the topograph on the top of Leckhampton Hill. Alternatively drive up Hartley Lane to the top car park and walk along to the topograph for 19:45. This is organised by our ecumenical cluster. No wet weather alternative…..just dress appropriately!

  • 12 May 18 Cinderford Churches have a day of prayer on Saturday 12 May from 7 am – 7 pm at St Stephen’s Church Belle Vue Road Cinderford 1 GL14 2AA. Space for quiet prayer along with variety of interactive prayer stations to stimulate reflection and contemplation. 
  • 17 May 18 Christ Church prayer for Pentecost

    Meet in church to wait on the Holy Spirit in preparation for Pentecost.



  • 17 – 19 May 18
    • Tewkesbury Churches Together are setting up prayer stations in Holy Trinity Church and the church will be open 9am – 9pm Thursday 17th May, 9am – 9pm Friday 18th May, 9am – 6pm Saturday 19th May finishing with an act of worship together at 6pm on Saturday. We are inviting all within the community to come and encounter Jesus in prayer.
