VICAR of Holy Apostles, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham and PRIEST in CHARGE of St Michael’s, Whaddon

Published: September 7, 2018

A unique opportunity to combine the role of Vicar of a vibrant, mission focused, open evangelical church in one of the most attractive and prosperous parts of Cheltenham with Priest in Charge of a Local Ecumenical Project in an Urban Priority Area.

Holy Apostles has seen significant growth in recent years and is looking for a Vicar who will be able to consolidate and build upon this growth as we seek to fulfil our purpose, of ‘knowing Jesus and making Jesus known’, even more effectively across our communities. Holy Apostles’ benefits from a reordered church, a recently reordered Church Centre and significant lay leadership support.

The role of Priest in Charge of St Michael’s is primarily one of oversight and support in conjunction with two ordained colleagues (a Pioneer Minister and Methodist Minister) who undertake much of the day to day ministry in the parish.

We are looking for someone who can combine these roles with integrity and confidence, an encourager and equipper of the ministry of others, a gifted communicator and leader, open to the Holy Spirit’s leading and comfortable with a variety of approaches to collective worship.

For an informal discussion about the role contact the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Ven Phil Andrew on 01452 835594.
