ASSOCIATE PRIEST – Parish of Cirencester with Watermoor

Published: October 11, 2019

The Bishop of Gloucester, in conjunction with the Vicar of Cirencester, seeks to appoint a collaborative, creative and mission minded Associate Priest for the historic town of Cirencester.

With three churches within the town, including the ancient parish church of St John Baptist which lies at Cirencester’s heart, the Parish is served by an enthusiastic team of clergy and lay leaders. The Associate Priest will have responsibility for the pastoral care of the congregations at Holy Trinity Watermoor and St Lawrence Chesterton but will also work with the Vicar in the mission and ministry of the whole parish.

With the confidence to draw people together from different backgrounds and traditions and unite them in worship and mission, you will have the ability to help, in collaboration with others, to realise the very significant potential of this strategic parish.

Cirencester is a rapidly growing market town, home to several excellent schools and the Royal Agricultural University, with first class amenities and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

For an informal discussion about the role contact the Vicar of Cirencester, Canon Graham Morris on 07871 571147, or the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Ven Phil Andrew on 01452 835594 or 07498 052045.

Closing date for applications: 12pm on Wednesday 30 October 2019
Interview date: Friday 22 November 2019
