VICAR – The Beacon Benefice

Published: May 10, 2019

The Beacon Benefice is a group of six parishes centred around the lively village and church of Painswick near Stroud who seek a new Vicar not afraid of the challenges of complex rural ministry ready to help them identify God’s path for the way forward in their communities.

Key words from the profile include ‘relevant’ ‘relational’ ‘pastoral’ ‘community’ and ‘collaborative’ – there is a supportive team of Associate Priest, Readers, active lay leaders, administrators and retired clergy. There is good youth ministry, work with children and schools.

The challenge for the new Incumbent will be to value tradition and shape the future, to simplify and inspire and to do it with and not to the people of the benefice.

This is an exciting ministry, a great community and a beautiful place to live and you can find out more by looking at the parish profile.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon Monday 3 June 2019
Interviews: Friday 5 July 2019
