Christmas Tree Festival – Holy Trinity , Badgeworth
December 14, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Holy Trinity Church prepares for over 100 Christmas trees!
On Saturday 14th December, Holy Trinity Church in Badgeworth will be holding its first Christmas Tree Festival. The church will be filled with over 100 trees, from small decorations to beautifully lit larger trees, decorated by members of the church and village, and by users of Badgeworth Village Hall including Badgeworth WI, Nurturing Beginnings and CODS.
On Saturday 14th, our beautiful Grade 1 listed 14th Century Church, situated between Cheltenham and Gloucester, will be displaying the trees from 10am, with locally made festive crafts for sale, activities for adults and children, hot and cold drinks and lots of home-made cake! There will also be a display of the entries to our Christmas colouring competition, designed by local artist Michael Holyoake, with prizes for all entrants who come to view their work. There will be music on the hour from one of 3 school choirs – Shurdington CE Primary School, Churchdown Village Junior School and Churchdown Village Infant School, and performances from two talented musicians – Josh Cottell (University of Oxford) and Liam Fleet (Birmingham Junior Conservatoire).
Entry to the Christmas Tree Festival is free.
At 4pm all are welcome to join in a service of Carols by Candlelight, when the lights will be turned off and the service of readings and popular carols will be held in the illumination of the Christmas trees and congregational candles. After the service, everyone is invited to share in mulled wine and mince pies at Badgeworth Court Care Centre, next to Holy Trinity Church.
Parking on the day will be at Badgeworth Village Hall car park GL51 4UJ) or at Badgeworth Court Care Centre. The church has disabled access. Please use the postcode GL51 4UL.
