AA Awareness Day for Professionals
Thursday 20 February 2020
Cheltenham Ladies College
Due to enthusiastic response and positive feedback, we are hosting our second AA Awareness Day for Professionals
The purpose of this is to highlight how Alcoholics Anonymous can help your patients, their families and friends with alcohol-related problems.
Last year we heard from :
Mr Rory O’Connor from the Dentists Health Support Programme who stressed that involvement in A.A. is essential to ongoing recovery,
Tony Mercer (Public Health England), whose experience suggests that most successful ongoing recovery treatments include a 12 Step programme and
Dr.Adam Farmer a Consultant Gastroenterologist who explained how alcoholism causes immense physical harm & how this can be addressed.
We also heard from a number of recovering alcoholics and from a member of Al Anon (a Fellowship which supports families and friends of alcoholics).
Our programme this time will follow a similar format with equally renowned speakers.
