Churches Count on Nature – 5-13 June
June 5, 8:00 am - June 13, 5:00 pm
This June Gloucester St Mary de Crypt will be spending a week looking, listening and recording the diversity of life in the churchyard.
They are joining communities across the country for ‘Churches Count on Nature’, a joint initiative promoted by Caring for God’s Acre, A Rocha UK, the Church of England and the Church in Wales.
For a week in June, it brings local people together to discover the wildlife in their local church yard, recording the species they find, combining their results with others which will be collated on the National Biodiversity Network, a nationwide database of wildlife in the UK.
From the beginning of June they will be organising bug hunts, bird spotting, squirrel observation and plant identification to record all the amazing species we can find in the churchyard. Bring your notepad and pencil and join us! Visit the website for more information and organised events soon www.discoverdecrypt.org.uk
