EcoChurch Resourcing: Eco-Church drop-in with sustainable heating demo
Wednesday February 8, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
This is a one-off in the series of Eco-Church resourcing events, with Matt Fulford (DAC sustainability advisor) joining Cate Williams to demonstrate under pew heating and answer questions about technical aspects of reducing carbon usage in church buildings.
EcoChurch resourcing events are informal gatherings, in various locations across the Diocese. They are opportunities to bring questions, to share joys and frustrations, and to find out what others are doing nearby. Often conversations develop about what could be done by working together. Ecumenical partners are welcome to join the conversation – we have close links with other churches through GCEJN so it seems appropriate to do this together.
Pop in for as long as you are able to join the conversation. There is no expectation that you come for the full three hours, we will be available for you to drop in whenever suits you, between the advertised times. We look forward to dreaming together about what could be possible in our churches and communities.
Special guest for this session only: Matt Fulford (DAC sustainability advisor) will join Cate Williams (Environmental Engagement Officer) and together they invite all who are interested in sustainability to join them for general EcoChurch conversation and an under-pew heating demo, any time between 4-7pm on Wednesday 8 February at St Andrews Church, 3 Church Row, Chedworth, Cheltenham GL54 4AD. This is a drop-in session for people to attend as suits their diary.
Venue: St Andrew’s Church, Chedworth is a net carbon zero building. Matt will be demonstrating two different types of under-pew heating, electric panel heaters, heated seat cushions and overhead radiant heaters as well as being available for general conversation about sustainability and church buildings. All forms of heating will be on for attends to experience first hand on what we hope might be a cold winters day!
While there is a focus in this drop-in on the ‘buildings’ heading of Eco-Church, Cate will be around for more general conversation across the breadth of EcoChurch. Conversation, questions and celebrations, across all five categories of EcoChurch will be very much welcomed.
Cate welcomes invitations from any location across the Diocese.
There is no need to book please if you have time please register your interest or let Ellie know if you have any questions.
