Tuesday September 6, 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm
FreeIntroduction and Taster session: Wednesday 20 July 6:30pm – 8:45pm
8 session course commencing 6 September 2022
Venue: St Luke’s Church, Tutshill, Nr Chepstow.
People are using mindfulness, amongst other things, to develop self-awareness, to work with stress and anxiety, to become more content in life.
Research has shown that mindfulness can help with anxiety, stress, low mood and sleep disruption. Mindfulness also helps us become more aware of ourselves and our self-destructive habits. Many find that mindfulness also helps us develop our contemplative or listening prayer.
Led by Ian Bussell, Head of Ministerial Development.
The course will teach you a number of practices which you can try at home. For example we will be paying attention to our breathing and noticing the thoughts that come to mind while we do that. The aim is to become more aware of our thoughts, feelings and sensations at any moment in order to be present to ourselves, to what we are doing and to what is going on around us. It sounds simple, but they aren’t called ‘practices’ for nothing!
