8 session course
Mindfulness is the practice of being aware in the present moment with an attitude of compassionate curiosity. It is not about clearing the mind, though the mind often feels a little clearer, and it is not about reducing stress, though people often feel a bit less stressed. It is a gentle practice of stepping out of our auto-pilot and noticing in the here and now. Research for the NHS and government has demonstrated how effective this practice can be for general wellbeing as well as for specific difficulties such as anxiety, depression, sleeplessness and stress. (Eg Google the report ‘Mindful Nation’ 2015).
Trained by the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, Ian Bussell and Pauline Godfrey will be leading this 8 session course to help you develop mindfulness in your everyday life. You will get the best out of this if you can practice during the week.
