God’s Reconciling Mission
February 2, 12:15 pm - 1:30 pm
Expand your idea of mission, and learn about how you are part of God’s reconciling mission in the world through your own work and commitments, and through the organisations that you support. This workshop offers a way of thinking about Christian mission as a journey towards greater reconciliation. It enables you to make connections with your own work and what you believe in. The framework incorporates addressing human needs, raising awareness of injustice, challenging the system, and negotiating change as elements in releasing a foretaste of heaven here on earth.
Led by Alastair McKay
Alastair is director of Reconciliation Initiatives based at Coventry Cathedral. He leads training and development programmes in the UK which resource church leaders to see reconciliation as integral to Christian mission. He has over 25 years’ experience in facilitating adult learning, and was the director of Bridge Builders for nearly 20 years. He is the author of Bridgebuilding: Making peace with conflict in the Church (Canterbury Press, 2019).
