How to use puppets in worship

Have you ever thought about using puppets in worship but aren’t sure how to start?

David and Mary Connell have been leading a team of puppeteers for over 15 years, using puppets in church services, school assemblies and outreach events in Derbyshire.  They moved to Churchdown during lockdown and now worship at St John’s Churchdown and Innsworth.  They are keen to encourage other existing or would-be puppeteers in Gloucestershire and, possibly, form a new team.

There will be a free Puppet Taster Session at St John’s Church Hall, Churchdown, on Sunday 26 March from 4pm to 5.30pm.  If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in learning more about how to operate a puppet, do come along. There’s no obligation to take it any further – just come along and have fun!  All are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.
