Theologian, Poet and Director of Research at the Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education, Birmingham University and Professor of Feminist Practical Theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Professor Slee is an acclaimed author in the fields of feminist and practical theology, spirituality and prayer.
Professor Slee writes:
Over the course of Christian history, spirituality and iconography, the figure of Mary has been interpreted in multiple ways. Who is Mary for us today? What is her significance theologically, as a symbol of the feminine(divine)? In this wide ranging talk, I will use poems (and images) to explore some of the many different aspects of Marian theology, bringing a feminist lens to bear upon the topic.
