Mission Shaped Ministry course start date
12/01/2019, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
£150 – £180 for the full course.
This course will be of interest to anyone who is already doing or planning mission in their local community or within a specific network. It could be a Fresh expression of church or a different kind of creative missional activity. You could be part of a group, or an individual exploring your vocation. You could be at any stage – scoping ideas, just getting started or considering how to develop further.
It is an opportunity to learn about best practice, to hear stories about what others have done across the country and to share ideas and conversation with others more locally. If this sounds appealing, gather some others from your local churches and come along. Previous participants have said it is “inspiring, encouraging and enjoyable”; “invigorating and inspiring” and that they have valued the “time together, sharing hopes and fears”
There are three ways of engaging with the course:
- Local groups of people working as a team on a Fresh Expression of church, whether in the early stages of discerning what is the right way forward in their local situation, or to aid reflection as an existing Fresh Expression grows and develops.
- Groups from a local church or benefice, exploring mission that makes a difference in their local community and that may or may not include a Fresh Expression.
- Individuals taking the course as they explore where God is calling them, and working in a group facilitated by Pauline Godfrey.
The course returns for 2019, in a new format, designed both to give increased support at the local level and to make it easier to participate for those living at a greater distance from teaching centres. To book on this course, click here
Booking for the taster day is open on the relevant page.
The course will be taught as a mixture of full course sessions and local group sessions. The full group will gather centrally for three Saturdays in January, March and May 2018, a residential in November 2018, and a final Saturday in early 2020. In between these will be 7-10 local group gatherings, arranged to suit local preferences.
The cost for the full course including residential is £180 for individuals or £150 each for groups of three or more. If this is a barrier to participation please contact Cate, though please only if you really need to as this figure already includes a significant subsidy compared to the actual cost.
