Mission Shaped Ministry course start date
March 30, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Supporting worshipping communities to be creative in local mission outreach.
This course is for all people who would like to plan or are already planning and delivering creative mission in their local community or networks. This could be a Fresh Expression of church or a different kind of missional activity.
Participants may be at any stage – just getting started, scoping ideas, or considering how to develop things further. Participants may be individuals or part of a group. This course is a great opportunity to learn about what other worshipping communities have done across the country and to share ideas.
The course material has been developed by the national Fresh Expressions Team and the training sessions will be led by Cate Williams, Mission and Evangelism Officer, local Pioneer Ministers and members of the diocesan Mission and Ministry team.
The training sessions include:
- Engagement with course materials focussing on best practice in mission.
- Seeing in video form what others are doing around the country.
- Discussion about what this might mean practically in your community.
- Sharing stories, best practice, challenges and opportunities.
The course will be taught as a mixture of full course sessions and local group sessions. The full group will gather centrally for three Saturdays in 2019: 30 March, 18 May and 8 June, a residential on the weekend of 15-17 November, and a final Saturday in early 2020. In between these will be 7-10 local group gatherings, arranged to suit local preferences.
The cost for the full course including residential is £180 for individuals or £150 each for groups of three or more. If this is a barrier to participation, please contact Cate Williams to discuss.
