Tewkesbury Abbey Theological Forum – Theological Reflections on Mental Health
April 3, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Title of Talk: Theological Reflections on Mental Health
Speaker: The Rev’d Dr Alison Gray FRCPsych
Mental Health issues are in the press almost daily, such is the interest and concern. Dr Gray is a recently (early) retired consultant psychiatrist who lead the Mental Health Liaison Team in the Hereford County Hospital. She has had a long interest in religion, spirituality and health. She is an ordained Anglican priest and until recently was associate priest at Great Malvern Priory. She has been an Honorary Research Fellow at the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public Understanding of Religion, University of Birmingham. Alison recently moved to Munich (her husband has a teaching job there) and is discerning her role in the local Anglican church as well as learning German as fast as she can. Alison will be back in England for a while during April – she won’t be travelling from Munich to give her talk!
The Theological Forum meets six times a year, and is open to all-of any faith or none- who have an interest in theological matters. Talks are held in Abbey House, next to the Abbey.
