The Language of Spirituality
May 15, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The disciples understood there was something in Jesus relationship with God that they couldn’t grasp, they needed a new language, a new approach and so they asked Jesus how to pray. In the same way teachers in our church schools have asked for a way to grasp what is meant by Spirituality? Debbie Helme and Jo Wetherall have developed a language of Spirituality to help both staff and pupils and supported by prayer spaces and collective worship materials.
These events are for everyone, not only people with school connections. ‘The Language of Spirituality’ can help us all to describe our Spirituality – our understanding of who God is and how that effects our everyday lives – to people who don’t have an experience of faith. The workshop will help you to explore this language for yourself and share ideas on how to use it.
Led by: Jo Wetherall – Growing Faith and Spirituality officer and Debbie Helme – Strategic lead for Christian Distinctiveness in Church schools
