Whole-Life Preaching with LICC
June 2, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£10
Perspectives and practices to develop the discipling power of preaching for Monday to Sunday life. What’s the relationship between preaching and disciple making? It is possible to think that there isn’t one. After all, many books exploring discipleship have nothing to say about the week by week preaching that we are all involved in. But we’re convinced that our sermons are one of the primary ways we can create and nurture whole-life disciple making communities. Sunday’s sermon in church can profoundly equip us for Monday’s reality in the office, at the shops, in school, or … wherever we are.
Stefan McNally and Antony Billington from LICC discuss the challenges of preaching for the whole of life and reflect on the possibilities that preaching offers us as we seek to make disciples.
Part of a series of workshops offering key members of congregations to come and learn together. Led by members of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC), we will be introduced to different aspects of making connections between people’s Monday to Saturday lives and our Sunday worship.
The day will include refreshments and lunch and will cost £10 per person to a maximum of £30. (If you bring more than three people we will offer you those places free).
