Wild and Wonderful Workshop – for church and holiday club leaders
Saturday November 5, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Wild and Wonderful workshops for church and holiday club leaders
The Wild and Wonderful programme is aimed at churches, holiday clubs and primary schools that are keen to engage more with science, faith and creation care (see also www.wildandwonderful.uk for more info and free resources).
The programme and resources have been developed and tested over the past ten years, by biologist and children’s/youth worker Petra Crofton. This autumn, Petra is offering two workshops aimed at children’s/families work and holiday clubs.
During each workshop, Petra will introduce the six Explore Creation sessions, which engage with Genesis 1and 2: from life in the dark, the sky, the water (etc) to caring for creation. Explore Creation sessions always include a short story, an outdoor explore, games and crafts using natural materials. During the workshop these activities will be explained and displayed, with plenty of time for questions. Weather permitting, we will also go out into the local park and arboretum on a taster trail with wildlife hunt.
The other Wild and Wonderful resources, Awesome Science (about Science and Faith) and the Science Geek Christy creation care teaching resources will be on display as well. However, the emphasis of the workshops will be on how to run Explore Creation.
