Mud, mess and mystery: resources for outdoor worship including Forest Church

Published: Wednesday September 23, 2020

We have been running a series of zoom seminars on the subject of outdoor worship, under the heading of Mud, Mess and Mystery.  The idea is to explore worship outdoors, that connects with nature – with covid-19 as a particular prompt to get outdoors but the conversation preceding the current restrictions as it is a good thing to do in it’s own right.  It is a great way to connect with God’s goodness as expressed through God’s creation and helps to to reconnect both with God in our thanksgiving, and with God’s non-human creatures.

The attached file contains a load of resources that have proved helpful for those worshipping outside.  We will add and amend as we come across new things, but this starts us off.  The list as it stands is most from Cate Williams and Petra Crofton, who led the first session: Jo Wetherall will add in hers too.

These prayers were written particular with Easter in lockdown in mind but there is no need to be in lockdown to pray outdoors!
